I have been a professional photographer for over 25 years, learning my trade at Brunel College, Bristol and Sir John Cass College of art, London in the early 90’s. I began my career in the UK working in the fields of industrial and studio photography. I also took on regular overseas assignments shooting in various locations in Africa, Asia, Europe and the America’s. I migrated to Australia in 2000 looking for new challenges and opportunities in the “lucky country”.
I have since been based in the Southeast Queensland region and have used this area as a springboard to shoot from as far afield as Darwin , Sydney, Fiji and New Zealand to name a few. From around 2005 I began teaching photography to the next generation of photographers from professionals to amateurs. I was the head trainer for a large multinational Japanese business from 2005 till 2009.
I then obtained my Cert IV TAA certificate and taught professional photography at Cert IV and Diploma at a Gold Coast college from 2009. Around 2010 I set up the Big Picture Industries photographic program which has the aim of advocating and promoting Visual Literacy programs to all school aged children. In 2012 we organised and opened the Shed 11 photographic studio which operates as a commercial studio and the premier photographic learning institution in the Southeast Queensland region. Shed 11 in turn supports and operates the Big Picture Industries projects helping others find creative expression through the visual image.
